Got a spare set of wheels and some spare time? The Kingston Councilare currently looking for volunteers or 'jockey's to assist drivers who deliver meals to the homes ofthe elderly orthose with disabilities. Their meal centres are located in Chelsea,Moorabbin and Mordialloc. The service provides residents with adaily menu that includes 4 main meal options which include both Greekand Indian options. >ROBOGALS



Robogals is a not-for-profit student-run organisation bringing robotics to girls. Robogals aims to increase the number of girls undertaking science, engineering and technology courses at university by engaging girls in LEGO robotics from a young age in a way that is fun and educational, as well as running other fun events aimed at this demographic.

Robogals are looking for motivated, organised university students with good written and oral communication skills in 1st or 2nd year of uni to join their committee in 2010. There are two vacant positions on the committee of Robogals Melbourne, as well as two newly-created positions in Robogals Global which oversees the chapters in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and London. Improve Biodiversity on Elwood Foreshore!
Come and enjoy some hands on weed removal activities along Elwood foreshore no matter what the season. If you haven't volunteered before, don't worry, the team leader will help show you what to do. Bookings are essential and volunteers are welcome to meet at the foreshore or come on the bus which leaves from our office in West Melbourne.

How much: FREE Just bring your lunch!

How long: The project leaves from our office in West Melbourne at 8.20am and returns by 4pm

Why?: If you have a spare day, what better way to spend it then getting outdoors and making a difference to the environment at the same time! Elwood foreshore has a huge biodiversity of native flora and fauna but they are struggling competing with foreign plants for survival. Assisting us on these projects will aid in the survival of our coastal ecosystems right on our doorstep!

> VACRO



VACRO is a community based organisation working with families and individuals involved with the criminal justice system.

They are currently working in partnership with the Neighbourhood Justice Centre in the City of Yarra, to support vulnerable families living on the Richmond Housing Estate. One of their key activities is engaging and offering support to children and young people, including through the development of a Monday after school sporting program.

They have access to sporting equipment, and a big bunch of kids wanting to get active, but need volunteer support to facilitate games and organise activities.

Time commitment: 3.30-5.00pm on Monday nights

Requirements: Volunteers must undergo a Working With Children Check and have interest in working in disadvantaged communities.

Melbourne City Mission Community Friend Program



Melbourne Citymission’s Community Friend Program is after committed volunteers who can get involved in a 1:1 friendship in the Preston/North Coburg area. 1:1 friendships get together once a fortnight out in the community. They are flexible and directed by the volunteer and the participant- what you do when is up to you and your match.

Time Commitment: 2-3 hours per fortnight.
This includes phone calls and travel time, as well as actual time spent together. Melbourne Citymission asks for an initial commitment of 12 months (but stepping back from your role during SWATVAC/exam periods is okay!).

Skills/Qualities Required:
> Reliablity
> Ability to focus on others needs
> An understanding of the importance of friendship and social connection
